Podcast: Tony Robbins

Are You a Giver or a Taker?

I find this episode particularly valuable for hiring managers and team leaders, as it provides a more nuanced approach to evaluating potential employees. Adam Grant, an organizational psychologist, professor at the Wharton School of Business, and bestselling author, challenges the traditional markers of success, such as hard work, passion, and talent, proposing that success is more closely tied to how we interact with others. He dispels common misconceptions about givers and takers, revealing that traits like agreeableness do not necessarily correlate with being a giver.

Overall, this episode is highly recommended for its in-depth exploration of interpersonal dynamics in the workplace (and not only).

Interview: Rich Litvin, How To Become A Masterful Coach

Even though this is a video for coaches, I strongly believe that anybody can benefit from listening or watching. In this episode, Rich, one of the world’s most exclusive coaches, presented a concept that completely changed the way I see life, mindset and interactions and he did that by making a clear distinction between DECISIONS versus DIAGNOSTICS. The concept of decisions as changeable differs significantly from the idea of diagnostics as immutable. When one views decisions as changeable, it implies a dynamic and flexible approach to life’s choices. On the other hand, the diagnostic approach, akin to a medical diagnosis, suggests a fixed and unchangeable condition. Watch to learn more, I promise it’s worth it.

Steve Jobs’ 2005 Stanford Commencement Address (with intro by President John Hennessy)

Not a podcast, not a vlog, but too valuable of a resource not to share with you. The most memorable takeaway from his speech, “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish,” has since become a mantra for many, including myself since first hearing it in high school. This phrase encapsulates Jobs’ philosophy of perpetual curiosity and willingness to take risks, encouraging graduates and listeners alike to embrace life’s uncertainties and pursue their true callings. This speech, more than just a ceremonial address, serves as a valuable resource for guidance, motivation, and inspiration.

“Modern Wisdom” podcast episode 670 presents a very thought provoking conversation between Chris Williamson, the host, and Alex Hermozi, a founder, investor and an author. Here they discuss the importance of living authentically and making independent decisions, emphasizing that life’s true value lies beyond societal expectations and the fear of judgment, urging listeners to overcome complacency and take bold steps towards their true desires.
